The 8th Spaghetti Bridge Competition, sponsored by Kuzeyboru A.Ş., was held on Monday, May 18, 2026, in the Martyr Ferhat Kaya Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The spaghetti bridge models, the product of weeks of design and production work by our students, were tested with live loading experiments.
Seven teams participated in the competition, and their bridges were evaluated by the jury based on both structural efficiency (load-bearing capacity/weight ratio) and aesthetic and originality criteria. The exciting testing process, where the bridges were loaded until the moment of fracture, was followed with great interest by participants and spectators.
As a result of the evaluation, the Infra-Tek team came first with 94 points, the Alhilal team came second, and the Makarina team came third. The awards were presented to the winning teams at a ceremony.
We would like to thank all our students who contributed to this event, which brings together design, analysis, and application skills in engineering education, our jury members, and Kuzeyboru A.Ş. for their support of the organization.
